The goal of this discussion forum is for students to compile a list of resources to aid in their college experience.
Complete the College Success Factors Index (CSFI) Activity and save a .pdf copy of your results. After reviewing your results, address the following in your initial discussion post:
• List the three lowest areas listed on your results chart (these are typically areas showing below the Watchline or below the Average line).
• Research resources that could help you better understand or improve each area. (Ex. if Task Planning is low, search for tips and tricks on improving your ability to plan).
• Next to each listed area, include at least two resources you found that you plan to use during your college experience. If the resource is a website, be sure to include a link.

Online learning is a largely self-directed endeavor. Many students struggle with staying motivated and on-task when there is not a specific “time” or “place” to attend class or study. For this week’s discussion, you will first need to complete the Self-Assessment of Your Self-Regulation activity and save a copy of your results for reference.
In your initial post address the following:
• What surprised you about your activity results?
• How will you utilize these results to proactively approach your college experience?
• Is there a particular area where your results indicated an issue that is likely to affect your success in college? If so, brainstorm ideas for how to counteract this issue.

While hope is a deeply personal sensation that can be difficult to articulate, the worth and beneficial impact it can have on human life is widely acknowledged and difficult to dismiss. People frequently talk about hope bolstering their resolve and accompanying them even in their darkest moments, guiding them through seemingly hopeless situations. Hope keeps us focused on our objectives and inspired to take action toward them. Despite the unpredictability of human existence, hope provides people a cause to keep fighting and believing that their current conditions will improve. Paramilitary style policing, a form of everyday policing, which results in massive incarceration in order to maintain a racial case. A typical VCSU operation could be described as the following:

A youth reportedly brandished a gun (not a crime unless a victim is being threatened) and has sped off to his mother’s house. The radios crackle: “1010 deploy units in the alley.” The house is surrounded by the VCSU. From behind cars, officers train AR-15s, MP-5s, and the larger MP-54’s on the front door and in the windows. Overhead, a chopper beats the air, flooding the house with light and scanning the area with infrared (117).

Evidently, paramilitary style policing has no boundaries. The special police units, which use this style of policing are considered to be the epimerization of militarization of policing. This is made possible with the
