A prison is an institution for the confinement of persons who have been remanded (held) in custody by a judicial authority or who have been deprived of their liberty following conviction for a crime. Some nations provide good environments to prisoners than others. This paper is focusing on prison systems of German, Brazil, and India. The prisons in German are run by the federal states through federal law. Just like other countries, in German, there are juvenile and adult prisons with adult one accommodating the largest percentage of about 97%. In Brazil, within the ministry of justice are two federal agencies concerned with prison policy, the Penitentiary Department and the National Council on Criminal and penitentiary.
