Part B. Craft an overview or brief summary of
EACH your assigned stories in
Moonshot. This overview should include the story’s title and its creators’ names and should identify the nation of origin of the story. Take one sentence to characterize the story’s contents–characters, plot or story type, themes, setting of time and/or place if it seems relevant. Take another sentence to describe or characterize the story’s visual form/style.
We’re in early stages of this work with visual form, so if this is new to you, no worries–use your own language to grapple with the visuals. Also, if you use phrasing from the book’s introduction to the story, be sure you cite these phrases.
Part C. Now explore the story/ stories in more depth. What do you take away from the story?
What do you make of it? How/why can you imagine it being valuable to the people/nation of the story’s origin? And/or explore the visual presentation of the story. What makes this story visually distinctive?
How does it move you through time and events? What visual choices stand out as important to
communicating the characters, plot, themes, etc.? Take at least three or four sentences to do this.

I recently watched the film The Reel Iniun, directed by Alanis Obomsawin. One particular moment that I valued was when one of the protagonists, a young girl named Marie who is forced to leave her home due to rising sea levels, speaks out against those in power for failing to properly address the issue of climate change (5:00-5:25). Despite being intimidated by their presence, she courageously stands up and voices her opinion on how they are failing to take action and protect her community. This moment stood out to me because it highlights an important concept which is often overlooked in our society; the idea of holding powerful individuals accountable for their actions or lack thereof.
Marie’s words demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity which has been seen throughout history with people demanding fair treatment and fighting for justice despite all odds . This can be applied not just within Indigenous communities but also broader social justice movements like Black Lives Matter as well. It connects directly with our own current issues such as advocating for better environmental regulations so future generations can have sustainable habitats and resources available .
The Reel Iniun was incredibly impactful because it provided viewers with insight into what many Indigenous peoples have gone through over time due to systemic oppression from colonialist forces . By seeing this example of someone standing up against these injustices ,it serves as a reminder that we too can raise our voices if we believe something is wrong no matter how daunting the task may seem at first glance. This scene had special significance for me personally since I am also part indigenous and felt a strong connection between Marie’s story and my own heritage.
In conclusion ,the movie The Reel Iniun presented an inspiring example through its protagonist Marie who spoke out against those in power despite feeling intimidated by them ( 5 : 00 – 5 : 25 ). This resonated deeply with me since it reminded me that even if faced with immense pressure ,we still have the courage to fight back when something needs addressing . It moved me as an individual but also as someone committed towards working towards more equitable societies where everyone feels safe regardless of their identity or background.
eye to it based on faith in autonomous auditing organizations. These standards can be supplemented by both qualitative and quantitative concepts. Reworking the auditing boundaries by segregation of tasks between the insiders and the outsiders (separation of task from ownership). Also, by hindering the propagation of self-structured image of companies through networks. Internal seniors and auditing company can also define information sharing system that is more transparent for the actors analyzing the final report (sans any restriction from either institution).
Measures give structure because they force the aspects of on environment to conform to the interventions set up by the superior hierarchy in order to allow for comparison and better development of the environment overall. Industries and sectors are complex and different from one another in many ways, they are complicated and vague. Therefore, they can never capture all aspects of activities or performances that are measured. Even with the continuous evolution of standardization process, there will always be areas left uncovered or not completely standardized to enable better performance.
These changes will always be a moving target for those who invest their time in finding way to manipulate the system, and search for loopholes. Transparency is a referral more than practiced even if it is believed to lead to a stronger governance. Auditing too, will take on many forms in different sectors based on the needs for standardization for example the weight awarded to detection vs prevention. These methods will always be needed for in their absence there would be poor administration, a higher chance of deception and inefficient culture in the organization.
Not all aspects that are measured are the ones that matter as we saw in the cases described above, in a social environment, these standards cannot blindly adopt to the rules set up by the mainstream industries since they have different areas that need attention. Similarly, with the presence of individuals looking to manipulate the system, there will be aspects that even when measured do not fully ca
