Theory of Classroom Management

Classroom management is the use of procedures and teaching techniques that promote a safe and efficient learning environment. Effective classroom management results in a smooth-running classroom where learning can occur. Although every teacher will have a unique style of management to meet each class` needs, the same elements can be found consistently. There are different kinds and different styles of classroom management. Froyen and Iverson (1999) stated that classroom management focuses on three major components: content management, conduct management and covenant management. Each of these concepts is defined and presented with details in a list of observable elements in effective teaching practices.

The ‘she’ in line 14 is widely debated in academic publications I came across in my research, while Booth glosses ‘she’ as synonymous the noun ‘woman’ (Shakespeare, Booth 455), Steele contests that assumption (Steele 133), which would change the perception of his mistress. However, this is not to be discussed any further in this paper.
