Human trafficking affects U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents as well as foreign nationals who have no legal status. The National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) is a national, toll-free hotline for the human trafficking field in the United States. There are many benefits and services available for foreign trafficking victims, including Refugee Cash and Medical Assistance, the Matching Grant Program, the Public Housing Program, and Job Corps. In addition, there are many community resources available for them. Trafficking victims generally are not able to obtain these resources by themselves; they need social services providers to assist them in accessing benefits and services so that they can achieve self-sufficiency.
