Third cinema was a Latino-American film movement between the years of 1960s to 70s whose sole theme was to decry capitalistic models of economy, neocolonialism and the Hollywood prototypical cinema as just an avenue for profit making. The title had been drafted in the manifesto “Towards a Third Cinema” that was written in 1960s but only published much later in 1969 in the cinema “journal Tricontinental”.
