Step 1

For the first part of the assignment establish a set of case facts where the assessment protocol will need to be used. Please indicate the grade level of the student. If you present a set of case facts that are a part of a case that you have been involved in, please make sure that the identifying information has been changed. You should present enough facts that it is clear that a threat exists and a threat assessment needs to be conducted.

Step 2

In the second part of the assignment, using the resources that I have provided make a plan of action to assess the student and to provide support for the student. Make sure you include the answers to the following questions in your plan:

What questions would you ask the student who is making the threat? (At least 3 questions)
Who would you contact? What staff would be involved in the assessment and interventions?
What interventions/safety protocol would you put in place at school for the student?
Please cite 2 of the resources that I asked you to review to support your plan. You may also use resources that you have found. This is not a requirement. There is no length requirement. Just make sure that the plan comprehensively addresses the case facts you presented.
