Everyone has their own personal challenges and struggles.  What motivates each of us to overcome… Or not?  For this assignment, you’re going to watch a TED Talk and then create your own video, reacting to the TED Talk below and explaining your thoughts about motivation.
The reason you are making a video is because, as you already know, communication through only written information is not the only skill needed in today’s world.  Being capable of communicating your ideas orally using professional body language and presentation skills is critical for job and career success.  Creating videos will help you improve your technical and communication skills, which will be used in any career you pursue.
Successful completion of this activity meets Module Outcomes 1 & 2.
MO1: Define motivation. (CO3)
MO2: Explain how motivation is reflected in our thoughts and behaviors. (CO3)
This activity aligns with the career competencies of oral communication and digital technology.
INSTRUCTIONS:

Please create a short (2 minutes or less) video to introduce yourself, and to briefly react to video below.  In your reaction, be sure to include the following:
– Your definition of motivation.
– What did you learn from the video?  For maximum points, please include an explanation of how motivation is reflected in our thoughts and behaviors.
– Give an example from your own life of the interaction between motivation and thought/behavior.  For example, think of a time when you failed to accomplish a goal you had established for yourself. Why do you think you failed?  What emotions were you feeling?  Did you blame yourself or others for your failure?
