Why EBP is an essential component of the practice of a BSN-prepared RN
Medical and health care is one of the most dynamic human disciplines, and large amounts of money are spent on high-quality and sophisticated research, resulting in an exponential growth in health care literature. Evidence-based practice (EBP) provides nurses with a method to use critically appraised and scientifically proven evidence for delivering quality health care to a specific population. The inclusion of EBP in nursing provides nurses with the scientific research to make well-founded decisions. Through EBP, nurses can stay updated about new medical protocols for patient care. EBP enables nurses to evaluate research so they understand the risks or effectiveness of a diagnostic test or treatments.
